As always, OP Esperidio has at heart the issue of sustainability to contribute to the protection of the environment and its inhabitants.
For this reason, we are committed to reducing CO2 emissions; we use irrigation methods aimed at reducing water waste; we use pesticides officially registered and authorized in the country; we manage pesticides a way that is safe for humans and the environment through accurate signage; we dispose of waste properly and also, as regards packaging, we use packaging purchased from the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), which respects the environment; we minimize the use of plastic and use 100% recyclable materials that guarantee product hygiene and freshness.
To satisfy our customers and to advance the value of sustainability, our OP has not only joined the SAI Platform, but has also achieved the FSA Silver level on the production of oranges, lemons and mandarins.
SAI Platform is one of the main global initiatives of the agri-food supply chain for sustainable agriculture, while the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) is a sustainability verification scheme, with which each company can evaluate the performance of its sustainable practices and have it verified by a third party through an audit.
It is therefore clear that every day we aim to achieve high standards of sustainability by combining respect for the environment with the quality and beauty of our citrus fruits, so that they satisfy the palates of our customers and contribute to their health while respecting the new perspective “Green“.
