Over the years, O.P. Esperidio has implemented and certified a quality management system necessary to make the most of resources, always improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain in order to meet the demands of the markets it addresses.
The quality management system, in addition to scrupulously controlling all the production processes within the company, is closely linked to the productions and the Integrated Production Regulations and a management system focused on quality and health and hygiene safety of the products, having as reference the HACCP methodology.
The company is certified GlobalGap, (certifies that Esperidio citrus fruits are grown according to internationally recognized standards such as good agronomic practices), GRASP, (a standard for inspections of good social practices), IFS Food, (another standard that aims to encourage the effective selection of food suppliers under the brand name of) and BRC Food Safety, (a specific international standard for the safety of food products) this standard represents an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to safety, quality and compliance with the rules governing the agri-food sector.
O.P. Esperidio has also obtained the Bio, Bio Suisse certifications and is registered under the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), for blood sicilian oranges.
Furthermore, O.P. Esperidio has chosen sustainability by adopting the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA), a project that sees a further step towards improvement that embraces highly topical issues such as long-term economic solidity planning, protection from the spread of invasive species and organisms; the ban on the use of pesticides; the protection of protected areas, the monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions; to these are added aspects of social sustainability, among which there are those related to the prevention of discrimination of workers and their safety.
The SAI (Sustanable Agriculture Initiative), platform of which O.P. Esperidio is an associate member; is a global initiative for the food value chain with the aim of supporting the development of sustainable agriculture around the world. This solution also allows a transparent and more efficient supply of safe and sustainable products for producers, large-scale distribution, producers and consumers.
